How are you finding English-friendly clinics without paying the tourist premium?

I do not need a fancy international hospital every time, but I also do not want to walk into a random clinic and play prescription charades. Feels like there is a weird gap between totally local places and the very polished expensive options. How are people finding decent clinics or hospitals for ordinary stuff lately? Especially curious how you check whether they explain 국민건강보험 coverage clearly before you waste half a day going there.

What surprised you most at contract renewal for your place in Korea?

My renewal is coming up and I am trying to figure out what is normal here versus what is just one landlord testing boundaries. The rent side is one thing, but I am more curious about the random extra paperwork, cleaning expectations, realtor involvement, or sudden talk about deposit changes that people run into. If you renewed recently, what actually happened in the last week before signing? I would rather hear the small practical stuff now than get blindsided on the day.

Which bank has been least painful lately for foreigners doing app verification?

I can deal with going to a branch once. What I am trying to avoid is opening an account and then finding out the app, transfers, or identity checks keep failing because my name format does not match somewhere. If you opened a bank account this year, which bank ended up being the least messy once you got past the first visit? I care more about day-to-day reliability than fancy perks. Bonus if the app and overseas transfer flow were decent.

KT told me my stay is too short for a regular phone plan, what did you do instead?

Went in thinking I could finally switch off prepaid, and the staff told me my current stay period is too short for a normal contract. Not blaming the employee, but it was one of those classic Korea admin moments where everything looked fine until the last two minutes. If you ran into this, did you just stay on prepaid longer, use an MVNO, or find another carrier branch that was easier to deal with? Mostly asking because I need something stable enough for verification texts and everyday use, not just data.

Anyone else still stuck planning life around ARC processing time?

I knew the ARC wait would be annoying, but I did not expect how many other things would get bottlenecked by it. I can survive with cash and a temporary setup for a bit, but it is the chain reaction that is getting old fast. Bank stuff, app verification, some bookings, even basic admin all feels like wait for the card, then come back later. For people who arrived recently, what did you handle first while waiting and what had to wait no matter what? I am trying to make a realistic first-month checklist instead of wasting time bouncing between offices.
